Swing Street Big Band formed in the 1990’s by a group of Winter Texans in the Rio Grande Valley. These musicians pooled together music arrangements they brought with them from home up north amd began playing in RV Resorts around the Valley during thier stay in south Texas from December to March. The band soon became a big hit playing the original music arrangements members brought with them and in 2013, after the band reorganized, the old music was donated and they began to update their playlist of songs.

Today this group of professional musicians have access to more than 14,000 arrangements by artists like Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Buddy Rich, Les Brown and many more. Swing Street's performances are in a show and dance format featuring soloists, different sections of the band and vocalists presenting a variety of slow and up-tempo songs including waltzes and Latin rhythms.

Winter Texans love theses shows from seasoned ballroom dancers to listeners who simply enjoy the music, watching dancers and enjoying their favorite beverage with friends.

Swing Street Big Band will be playing at Bentsen Grove Resort on January 27, 2017 starting at 7 pm and ending around 10 pm. For details, call Bentsen Grove Resort at (956) 585-7011. For more information about Swing Street Big Band and a full schedule, visit SwingStreetRGV.com/events.
